Resource Hub

Resource Hub

The Resource Hub concept is simple: we want to resource professionals in a world where time and money are short but young people still need us at our best.

We understand that working to support young people, whether in education, social care or the voluntary sector, takes its toll on professionals. There is little time and even less funding for self-development; learning can be difficult in a busy work environment where budgetary pressures and escalating safeguarding concerns increasingly impact the level of care we can give.

Resource Hub gives busy professionals the opportunity to get together in a friendly, understanding environment to access the latest resources on topics related to supporting young people. We offer a series of free 1-hour taster training sessions, signposting attendees to additional resources and training, as well as tea and cake at absolutely no charge.

Anyone is welcome at Resource Hub sessions, although the taster training on offer would best suit those working in education (Teachers, LSAs, SENCOs, Classroom Assistants), social care and local government (Social Workers, SEN Officers, Outreach Workers, Youth Workers), or in the third sector (charity staff, youth centre staff, parent-advocates).

We meet termly at locations in Hampshire and West Sussex. Sessions focus on a prevalent issue facing young people and those who support them, and are delivered in the first hour. This is followed by a Question & Answer session and networking opportunities. We want to provide an environment where attendees feel cared for and empowered, listened to and supported, and can have great conversations about best practice to be shared. All attendees will be invited to our Resource Hub Dropbox folder, which contains all the presentation materials and slides from our sessions, and which can be shared or cascaded to your colleagues.

For a flavour of what happens at a Resource Hub session, read our most recent blog about the West Sussex Resource Hub on 10th October by Dr Alex Gray.
