Releasing Potential Forest School
We offer Forest School programmes during term time through our work with schools, nurseries, and organisations in Hampshire and West Sussex. Forest School offers children the opportunity to attend school in the forest, to play in the great outdoors, and to take part in activities that balance freedom and fun with managed risk.
School in the forest
At its best, Forest School is a long-term process of regular sessions, rather than a one-off experience or a series of infrequent visits. Our school in the forest experience takes place in a woodland or natural environment to support the development of a relationship between the child or young person, and the natural world. Our Forest school uses a range of child-centred processes to create a community for being, developing, and learning.
Releasing Potential Forest School promotes the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilience confidence, independence an creativity in children and young people. We offer young people the opportunity to take supported risks appropriate to the environment and to themselves. Our Forest School is run by qualified Forest School practitioners who continuously maintain and develop their professional practice.
We also offer Forest School and Beach Explorers activity days during school holidays, as well as a Forest Explorers for older children. Our holiday activity days can be booked by parents wanting to send their child for a day of fun in the forest.
We offer Forest School in partnership with local schools, nurseries, and other organisations. Forest School gives children the opportunity to play and explore in a local woodland as part of their term-time schooling. The range of activities is enormous, and children are always inventing new ways of playing, and engaging with nature.
During the school holidays Forest School offers children aged 4-11 the opportunity to experience a day in the forest taking part in range of fun activities. Parents can book children onto Forest School Holiday Activities for anything from a day to a whole week or more.
Forest Explorers is our provision for young people. Available to older children, Explorers is the next part of a child's journey in exploring and discovering the outdoors whilst learning new skills in bushcraft. Young people can achieve badges and a stamp in their Forest Explorers' passport as they progress in their skills.
Forest Tots is our parent and toddler group for preschool children aged 0-4 years. We meet at a local park in West Sussex. The group provides an opportunity for parents to explore the outdoor woodland environment. Sessions include play, woodland craft and story time.
