The Management of Challenging Behaviour in the Outdoors
We offer a range of online and taught courses for outdoor practitioners and leaders who encounter challenging behaviour from participants. Our courses are accredited by the Northern College of Further Education, and the Institute for Outdoor Learning.


The Management of Challenging Behaviour CPD (Outdoor Ed)
Our CPD course is suitable for newly qualified outdoor instructors and coaches; those helping out on residential activities or expeditions; and those who have recently begun working with participants whose behaviour can be challenging. The CPD course is accessed online and requires c.10 hours of learning through reflective activities, video and quizzes.
The Management of Challenging Behaviour Level 2 (Outdoor Ed)
Our Level 2 course is suitable for more experienced outdoor instructors and for teachers and teaching assistants who sometimes work in an outdoor setting. The Level 2 is an accredited qualification and as such is formally assessed by a portfolio of evidence from practice. The CPD course is accessed online and is requires c.25-30 hours of learning through reflective activities, video, quizzes and assignments.
The Management of Challenging Behaviour Level 3 Taught
Our Level 3 course is taught on site at our training rooms four times a year and can also be delivered at your location of work for groups of more than 6. The Level 3 is fully accredited by the Northern College of Further Education and is assessed by a portfolio of evidence form classroom activities and personal practice. Our courses are delivered to a mixture of outdoor professionals and those working in teaching and youth work settings.
