Canoeing

We are situated in the joining of two harbours, Langstone Harbour a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’ (SSSI) and Chichester Harbour, an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (AONB). This makes us a perfect location for observing wildlife such as Little Egrets, Brent Geese and (if they are lucky) participants might even spot some Harbour Seals.

As well as observing wildlife from our base in Northney Marina participants can paddle out into the harbour or even head over the water where they can find a choice of cafes and even an ice cream shop. Participants will be provided with the craft of choice, paddle, buoyancy aid and a waterproof phone case to allow for contact in case of emergencies.

The area you can paddle in may have to be reduced due to weather conditions.

Due to the harbour being affected by tides, the times hire is available will change daily. For our most up to date times please check our Facebook Page.

Craft used

We operate using our own fleet of canoes. We offer a range of sizes to suit participants’ individual needs, from beginner to experienced.

Qualifications

Participants will have the opportunity to work toward National Governing Body Qualifications such as BCU Level 1 & 2.

What to bring

You’ll need to bring suitable clothing, including a spare set of warm, dry clothes. You’ll also need to bring your lunch if participating in a full day (10am-2pm).
