Holiday Activity Days

Forest School Holiday Activity Days

We run Forest School Holiday Activity Days at our sites at Stansted Park and in Slindon Woods.

Our Forest School Holiday Activity days give children aged 4-11 years the chance to spend a whole day playing in the forest, and to experience a range of woodland activities with children they may not already know.

Our activity days are run by Mikey Pearce, Jackie Cleall and Donna Sewell who are assisted by colleagues from the Releasing Potential School team. All are extremely experienced in working with children in the outdoors. This allows us to maintain a good ratio of staff to young people, and ensure that everyone has as much help and attention as they need.

The range of activities is enormous, and children are always inventing new ways of playing in the forest; it is not unusual, therefore, for children to participate in a number of activity days over the same holiday period and some parents choose to send their children for a full week at a time.

The Forest School Holiday Activity Days run from 08.30am to 3.30pm during half term, summer, Easter and Christmas holiday periods. Children need to bring a packed lunch and are advised to wear appropriate clothing depending on the weather, this should include wellington boots and full waterproofs.

Our Christmas Holiday Activity Day is Friday 22nd December 2017

Sophia had a lovely time at the Stanstead forest school holiday day. As she lives in a busy city, I was surprised and pleased at how much she enjoyed getting muddy and making things with her hands. We will definitely be sending her back since the fresh air and exercise sent her to bed nice and early too! Grandparent of a child from Stansted holiday activity day

Thank you to Karen and the Forest School team, my son had a great time yesterday. He came home covered head to toe in mud and smelling of a bonfire! Just what boys’ dreams are made of! Susan

I just wanted you to know that my girls had a fab day with you at Slindon Woods. I was a little worried when I dropped them off as most of the children were a bit younger. But the girls had a great day, particularly building a den. They haven’t stopped talking about it. They said that what made it was the staff, who were friendly and helpful, particularly Garry who showed them how to make a den. They tried to recreate s’mores this evening on my gas hob! Thank you for giving them such a great memory. Fiona
